IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026 – 11,403 CSA Vacancies, Eligibility, Fee and Apply Online

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has started the online application process for IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026. Through the Common Recruitment Process CRP CSA-XVI, eligible candidates will be selected for Customer Service Associate posts in participating public sector banks.

A total of 11,403 indicative vacancies have been reported for this recruitment cycle. Online registration started on 1 August 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until 21 August 2026. Applicants looking for a clerical-level career in a public sector bank should read the official notification carefully before completing the form.

The post was earlier commonly known as IBPS Clerk. It is now officially referred to as Customer Service Associate, or CSA.

IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026 Overview

The vacancies are indicative and may be revised according to the requirements reported by participating banks.

Important Dates

The official registration portal confirms that online registration, editing and fee payment will close on 21 August 2026. Candidates should complete their application several days before the deadline to avoid payment or server-related issues.

IBPS Clerk Vacancy 2026

IBPS has notified 11,403 indicative Customer Service Associate vacancies. These vacancies are distributed across different states, Union Territories, categories and participating banks.

Category-Wise Vacancy Details

Candidates must apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory. The selected State or UT also determines the language proficiency requirement and examination centres available to the applicant.

Participating Banks

Recruitment is being conducted for Customer Service Associate positions in participating public sector banks, including:

• Bank of Baroda

• Bank of India

• Bank of Maharashtra

• Canara Bank

• Central Bank of India

• Indian Bank

• Indian Overseas Bank

• Punjab National Bank

• Punjab & Sind Bank

• UCO Bank

• Union Bank of India

The bank finally allotted to a candidate will depend on Main examination marks, State or UT preference, category, available vacancies and the order of bank preferences submitted in the application.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India. An equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government is also acceptable.

The candidate’s graduation result must have been declared on or before 21 August 2026. Applicants should possess a valid degree certificate or final marksheet while completing the online application.

Computer Knowledge

Operating and working knowledge of computer systems is mandatory.

A candidate should have:

• A certificate, diploma or degree in computer operations or computer language, or

• Studied Computer Science, Information Technology or a related computer subject at school, college or another recognised institution.

Local Language Proficiency

Candidates should be able to read, write, speak and understand the official language prescribed for the State or Union Territory for which they are applying.

Applicants who cannot provide proof of having studied the specified language may be required to undergo a Local Language Proficiency Test before joining the allotted bank.

IBPS Clerk Age Limit

The candidate’s age will be calculated as on 1 August 2026.

Candidates should have been born between 2 August 1998 and 1 August 2006, with both dates included.

Age Relaxation

Candidates claiming relaxation must produce valid certificates in the prescribed format during document verification.

Application Fee

The stated fee includes applicable GST and must be paid online. Bank transaction charges, where applicable, may have to be paid separately by the candidate.

Payment can generally be completed using:

• Debit card

• Credit card

• Internet banking

• IMPS

• UPI or supported mobile payment services

The application will be treated as complete only after successful payment. Candidates should save the electronic receipt and final application form.

How to Apply for IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2026

Candidates can complete the IBPS CSA-XVI application through the following process:

1. Visit the official website of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

2. Open the CRP CSA-XVI recruitment section.

3. Select the link for new registration.

4. Enter your name, mobile number and email address.

5. Note the provisional registration number and password.

6. Fill in personal, educational, category and communication details.

7. Select the State or Union Territory for which you want to apply.

8. Enter participating bank preferences carefully.

9. Upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration.

10. Preview the complete application form.

11. Correct any spelling, category or qualification-related mistakes.

12. Pay the applicable application fee online.

13. Submit the application form.

14. Download the final form and fee receipt for future reference.

Online registration and fee payment remain available until 21 August 2026. The application-printing facility will remain available until 5 September 2026.

IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam Pattern

The Preliminary examination is an online objective test. It contains 100 questions carrying 100 marks and has a total duration of 60 minutes.

Each section is separately timed. Candidates must qualify according to the sectional and overall cut-offs decided by IBPS. Preliminary marks are used for shortlisting candidates for the Main examination and are not added to the final merit score.

IBPS Clerk Main Exam Pattern

The current CRP CSA-XVI Main examination contains 160 questions, carries 200 marks and has a duration of 125 minutes.

The official CRP CSA-XVI notification shows 40 questions in Quantitative Aptitude and a total Main-examination duration of 125 minutes. Candidates should avoid preparing according to older 155-question patterns circulated on some websites.

Negative Marking

There is a penalty for incorrect answers in both online examinations.

For every incorrectly answered question, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No penalty is applied when a question is left unanswered.

IBPS Clerk Selection Process

The selection process includes:

1. Online Preliminary Examination

2. Online Main Examination

3. Local Language Proficiency Test, where applicable

4. Document and eligibility verification

5. Medical examination according to the allotted bank’s requirements

6. Provisional allotment

There is no interview stage in IBPS Customer Service Associate recruitment. The Preliminary examination is qualifying, while the Main examination score is used for final merit and provisional allotment.

Pre-Examination Training

IBPS may arrange Pre-Examination Training for eligible candidates belonging to specified categories.

The abbreviation PET in the notification schedule refers to Pre-Examination Training. It should not be confused with the Preliminary Examination.

Pre-Examination Training is expected in September 2026, while the online Preliminary examination is scheduled for 10 and 11 October 2026.

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected Customer Service Associates are placed in the clerical pay scale applicable to participating public sector banks.

The notified basic pay scale begins at approximately ₹24,050 and may progress up to ₹64,480 through scheduled increments. Selected candidates may also receive dearness allowance, house-rent allowance, transport allowance and other benefits according to the rules of the allotted bank.

Actual monthly earnings depend on the posting city, participating bank and applicable allowances.
